Solar system

Explore a fitted overhead orbital map or tilted space view, then select the Sun, any planet or moon for a close 3D inspection. Moon and planet centers continue along their physical orbits.

Double-click a body to focus. In 3D inspection, drag to orbit and scroll or pinch to zoom; use Reset view to restore the arrival angle. Select Whole solar system to return to the map.

Saturn and Uranus show soft radial ring grains up close, simple flecks at medium detail, and no grains at the lowest detail. Ring rotation follows the common orbital clock and pauses with it.

Saturn's cloud bands and pale storm outbreaks drift with atmospheric flow; set Flow speed to zero to freeze the weather without stopping the orbital clock.

The Sun, nine planets and seven catalog moons.

Planetary orbits are shown around the Sun.

Scale: AU figures and orbital periods come from physical records. The fitted solar overview expands inner heliocentric distances for legibility while keeping the Sun fixed and the outer extent unchanged; the display returns smoothly to proportional AU distances as you zoom in or focus a body. Moon offsets stay on their parent system’s physical AU scale. Overview icons are enlarged for legibility; inspected models use catalog body radii. Atmospheric flow speed is independent of common orbital speed.
